Your result is in! You're an Overwhelmed Visionary, and here's what that means...

Your ability to generate ideas is genuinely remarkable. You are creative, you see things clearly, you can visualize how things could be like no one else. You get excited conceptualizing things, and you love a good brainstorming session.

The problem is that your brain doesn’t naturally filter or prioritise your ideas. It treats every idea as equally urgent and exciting. Figuring out what to do with all these ideas is something else, and getting started with them might feel… well, impossible.

You write things down, you might even try to make a list to get you started, but there is just SO MUCH TO DO. So you nope right out of there and scroll your phone for a bit instead.

The overwhelm you feel isn’t weakness. It’s what happens when you have too many options and don’t have the right filters and tools to manage the output.

The first step is simply noticing, without judgement, when this happens.

But then what?

People love to say it: just pick one thing! Just do the highest priority thing first! For an ADHD brain wired for novelty and possibility, it’s almost meaningless, because every option feels equally compelling, and it feels wrong to close off possibilities.

What works better is having a personal toolbox of strategies you can try when you notice the overwhelm. Not a one-size-fits-all solution. A menu of things to experiment with. Idea capture systems. Simple filtering questions. Ways of buying yourself a moment before the next shiny thing takes over. Ultimately building a different relationship with your ideas.

When you can catch yourself in the moment (“I’m pulling in six directions right now”), you suddenly have a choice about what to do next: continue the familiar pattern, or consciously do something different. The habit worth building isn’t “stop daydreaming” or “be more disciplined”.

Work.Life.Smarts is a totally different approach to habit building for ADHDers. The habits we focus on first are:

  • Self-awareness so you can learn about your patterns and notice those moments as they happen, without judgement
  • Making conscious choices to try something new (or not – you’re in control here).
  • Curiosity, so you can honestly evaluate what’s working and what isn’t.

At the same time, we experiment with practical tools and mindset strategies that can help you work more effectively with your brain. Over time you build not one rigid system, but a toolbox of strategies, a menu of options, that work with your unique brain to help you cut through the overwhelm.

Your ideas are your greatest asset — let’s build the tools to work with them, not against them
